Madaree Foundation

What we do

We build surgical missions around screened patients, volunteer clinical teams, partner hospitals and sponsor-funded resources.

The mission pathway

From application to operating theatre, every step must be controlled.

Get help

Patients, caregivers, hospitals or community partners submit an enquiry with the information required for triage.

Screen safely

Administrative triage checks eligibility, documentation, consent and whether the condition falls within an active programme.

Review medically

The relevant medical lead reviews prepared case files and decides whether the patient is suitable for a mission.

Plan the mission

The foundation coordinates theatre time, volunteers, equipment, consumables, patient logistics and post-operative follow-up.

Launch disciplines

Three starting points, one broader mission.

Cleft lip & palate

Focused reconstructive care for children and adults affected by cleft conditions.

Cleft programme →

Cataract & eye surgery

High-impact eye care that can restore independence and quality of life.

Eye programme →

Burn reconstruction

Reconstructive surgery to restore movement, comfort and dignity for burn survivors.

Burn programme →
Clinical governance

No chair, no programme.

Each surgical discipline should only open once there is a credible senior medical chair, safe clinical criteria, partner capacity and a realistic pathway for post-operative follow-up.

This protects patients, volunteers, sponsors and the foundation’s reputation.

Programmes should expand by medical readiness, not by marketing ambition.

Build this with us

Help turn operating time into changed lives.

We are inviting founding partners, hospitals, medical volunteers and supporters to help establish a trusted surgical foundation for South Africa.
